Re: Opinions on those using ZS 10.6

NetBeans has good support for Symfony2 and it's free.

Read though the forums here and you will see that there are a lot of complaints and little help. I was a Zend Studio user for years but they lost me when they went to Eclipse. Save your money and try NetBeans first.

Re: Zend I'm giving up

It's almost as if Zend is a slumlord. They charge a premium for their proprietary software poorly bolted on to a free IDE. As you can get much of the same functionality with PHPStorm (which is much less expensive), NetBeans or Eclipse/Apatana (both free). When you criticize them they (Kentatzend, pa...

Re: Browser trying to download PHP page

You're likely running out of memory. Check your Apache error log:

Code: Select all

sudo tail /var/log/httpd/error_log
Increase the amount in /etc/php.ini

My setting:

Code: Select all

memory_limit = 128M
Hope that helps.

Re: This is Nuts! Newbie issues

From your own experience and if you spend some time perusing this forum you will see that you are not alone. It doesn't get easier.

Save your money and try NetBeans (free), Komodo or phpStorm (both commercial).

Re: Buh Bye beast from the black lagoon, Take me back 5.5.0

I find it interesting that you continually post here that you've abandoned Studio for Netbeans and you encourage everyone else to do so calling our product garbage, etc. But every time we release a new version you always seem to buy the upgrade and then bitch about it here. I guess if you're buying...

Re: Buh Bye beast from the black lagoon, Take me back 5.5.0

Thank you for posting this. I, too took the plunge into 9 and immediately regretted doing it. Every time I try to do something – anything – I am welcomed by some obscure Java error about permissions or null or something. And my topic posted 2 days ago about file locations and Subversion still hasn't...

Studio 9, Subversion and file locations

We are developing a WordPress plugin that uses Zend Framework and is hosted in Subversion. Since the release of Studio 9, when checking out a project, I do not have the same level of control that we had before. For example, we have the following directory structure: /var/www/html/wordpress/wp-conten...

Re: Error: Processing Dirty Regions

The latest beta update site resolves this issue.
When will Zend Studio be a finished product? Why are paying for beta software?

Re: Toggle Word Wrap & Studio 8

Seriously - give up on word wrap for Zend Studio. Zend has made it perfectly clear that the half-baked solution in it now satisfies the needs of their customers. If you want something better you'll have to switch to another IDE. Might I suggest NetBeans which has a slightly better WordWrap implement...
