Re: Toolkit connection problems after migration

Hi, Longnoz,

Based on a side discussion, here's the status of your issue:
1. Connection is working
2. I suggested you check the toolkit debug log (which I believe you are logging to) for timing details of each step.

Thanks,
Alan

Re: Toolkit connection problems after migration

Hi, Longnoz, Although I don't see a good reason for the issue you report (because passing the database connection should work), you could optimize your code by moving the toolkit connection, toolkit options, and the addlible to a point before your loop begins. Then pass in the toolkit object to your...

Re: Random Toolkit Error

Jordon, that error is from an old toolkit version (1.5.0 and earlier). Later versions are able to return a more specific error message.

Re: Library list issues

Longnoz, Best way to set up a liblist is via the user profile's job description, but what you did should work also. If you want the toolkit job to use the database connection to run programs in, you'll need to specify stateless mode. $obj->setOptions(array('stateless'=>true)); Try it. Alan Seiden Se...

Re: Character set issues - random garbage characters returne

Longnoz, Working with IBM, we've found a simpler solution. In the file /usr/local/zendphp7/etc/conf.d/ibm_db2.ini (or equivalent for other versions of PHP), set this value: ibm_db2.i5_dbcs_alloc=1 and then restart the ZENDPHP7 (or equivalent) Apache instance. Or you can set this value from the Zend ...

Re: XTOOLKIT Job ended in QSYSOPR

I use stateless mode, where possible, rather than stateful jobs that automatically end. When idleTimeout is used for stateful jobs, however, I don't know of a way to stop the timeout messages from appearing. I see various solutions on the web for removing certain messages automatically. E.g. https:/...

Re: Character set issues - random garbage characters returne

Hi, Brad,

We've been seeing this issue recently. Our solution is to add a trim() in your SQL, such as

Code: Select all

select trim(myfield) as myfield
. Try it and let us know.

Re: LIBL issues with UDFs

Solution: Longnoz told me offline that his db2_connect, using i5_libl, worked after all.

Re: LIBL issues with UDFs

Dear Longnoz, The usual library list techniques should work. i5_libl (underneath it does CHGLIBL) JOBD (best way--set initial library list in the JOBD of the user profile) toolkit (yes, this works. If it didn't affect the library list then you may have made a mistake. Use stateless mode to work with...

Re: Problem with i5_pclose after Zend Server upgrade

Brandon, the i5_pclose ends the persistent database connection underneath. To allow PHP to regenerate the connection, add this line to /usr/local/zendsvr6/conf.d/ibm_db2.ini, then restart Zend Server:
ibm_db2.i5_check_pconnect = 1
