MariaDB Current State

We currently run MySQL 5.1 with the ibmdb2i driver. I have a few questions about MariaDB. 1. Has the ibmdb2i driver been released? 2. Does the trick to get existing db2 table to show up in MySQL still work? This was originally published on the young i professionals website that seems to be down now....

IBMDB2I updates from DB2

I'm having an issue with updating tables from db2 not firing certain MySQL events. Here is a list I have so far: - Query Cache - Updates from iseries do not expire the query cache as they should. - See here: forums zend com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=126613 - Replication - Updating a table from MySQL will ...

MySQL IBMDB2I Query Cache

Is anyone having issues with the MySQL query cache on tables updated from DB2? Here is an issue that I'm seeing: CREATE TABLE Users(`id` int, `first_name` varchar(45), `last_name` varchar(45)); INSERT INTO Users(`id`, `first_name`, `last_name`) VALUES (1, 'John', 'Doh'); from MySQL: MySQL -> SELECT ...

Re: Segmentation fault error PDO Prepare Statement (PHP5.5)

We had a few issues with 64-bit ibm driver and php 5.4. We were not using Zend server for this project it was just ubuntu packaged php. I found that the solution was to upgrade to php 5.5.16. You can read a helpfull blog post here: onefinepub_com/2014/02/php-segfaults-pdo_odbc-64-bit-platforms/ whic...

Re: Foreign Key Support

The error changes for me as well. We are on version "Server version: 5.1.59 MySQL Community Server (GPL)" which is newer than the patches.

Re: Foreign Key Support

Thank you for the reply I changed that as a test to see if it would work. I have tried Restrict, Cascade and No Action and I get the same error message. Do you know of anyone who is using Foreign Keys with IBMDB2I?

Re: Existing DB2 tables on MySQL

I'm no master of the iSeries but I don't think it is. When it states in the error to check the job log I can do that. This error does not say that and I can't seem to find any log with more info. Lets look at indexes and triggers for a minute. How can I tell which ones are linked to a table? If I us...

Re: Existing DB2 tables on MySQL

Thanks for the reply. I just checked with our iSeries admin and it looks like that PTF is already applied.

Existing DB2 tables on MySQL

We are using the zendDBi database and are attempting to setup a MySQL table from an existing DB2 table. Using the method found in the young i professionals DB2StorageEngineDocument (in the section titled “Existing IBM i DB2 Tables” near the bottom of the page). This works for most tables but for a f...
