Re: V8.0 No iSeries Connection

I believe they are pushing everyone to use the SSH connection to the IBM i. It always was a better method and the IBM i connections seemed to be pretty flaky so I assume they decided to remove them. All you have to do now is start SSH on the IBM i and connect to it..

Version 8.0 open document freezes update for 2 minutes?

I have just upgraded to V8 and found what seems to be a significant problem, when I open a file which is in the root directory of the web site it opens the file but takes 2 minutes to allow editing? If I open a file in folder from the root it opens in the same manner but I can edit the file immediat...

Re: CCSID's

It should be converted to ASCII automatically and you should not have to do anything? Looks like the CCSID's are messed up either with the web server of the file? What are the CCSID's you have setup for the webserver and what CCSID are the pages in? I had a particularly bad experience where I copied...

Re: apache doesn't start at IPL

erich I agree, IBM has really screwed things up with their latest incarnation of IBM Director for iSeries Navigator! I could not even get it to run so I had to go in and call the pages using the ports to get to the old HTTPAdmin interface etc.. But that does at least work MOST of the time.. I did fi...

Re: apache doesn't start at IPL

Use the IBM interface to start (or set to auto start )any configured Apache instances other than Zend. Zend has added autostart entries for the subsystem to auto start in ZendServer so all you need to do is start your own Apache Servers.

Re: iseries connection problems

See the answer in the other post, i5 connect can only connect to the localhost when installed with the Zend Server installation. If you need to access the i5 toolkit functions from remote servers (can be linux or windows) you will need a key from Aura equipments to allow it! An option may be to prox...

Re: Zend iseries connection problem

The i5_connect provided by Zend only allows local connections! If the i5 target is not the same server as the Zend install it will not work. I would suggest using EasyCom Server alone without the Zend Server install if all you want to do is access the data on the i5 target using the i5 toolkit funct...
