Re: Starting MySQL server outside of shell

Make sure you installed as QSECOFR! Not a profile with SECOFR authorities.. A lot of people do this (me included) and it causes all sorts of issues. Another check is to ensure it can be used by the required profiles and the root password is set.

Re: Zend Server CE for IBM i is free of charge?

I think if you have already had your 1 years support for free with ZendCore, moving to ZendServer will not provide additional support! You have to pay for it... You do not have to pay for the product though, just the support! we moved away just because of this.. Support was OK when you needed it, bu...

Re: Zend Code Tracing fails to start - error is weird symbols

You are probably experiencing problems with CCSID settings on the pages. When you create a page using the IBM tools it creates it is a strange CCSID, then when you run that through the PHP interpreter you get either weird symbols between each letter or it will not run the PHP script at all? Check ou...

Re: Jobs looping and ending with fresh install of Zend Server.

We tried to get IBM to look at it and they said it was a problem with the ZendServer, something to do with a debug module setting an address which was way out in OS territory! Zend would not support us as we did not have a support contract so we ended up uninstalling! It happened on V6R1, V5R4 and V...

Re: Updated to Studio 7.2 now db2_escape_string unknown

ZendStudio 7.2 has an XML file which has all of the function headers in it that seems to be out of whack, it has a number of issues with the i5_toolkit as well. Even though the intellisense is not working the function call should still work..

Re: error_log

Yes you can just delete it and it will recreate, not the best solution but it does work! You need to set up your server to manage the logs, "LogMaint logs/access_log 7 0" for every configuration file you are creating logs within. This should remove any logs called logs/access_log in your server dire...

Re: unauthorised access to php scripts on i5

Erich As I have said before it is entirely up to the individual, Yes the data does get saved to the place you have mentioned, so when you install the next version you have to go in and copy it all back again! Why? If it is correctly stored in its own directory structure any changes you make to the p...

Re: unauthorised access to php scripts on i5

I would also add that putting your website content in the product install library is not a good idea! When you delete the LPP to install a newer version you will delete your website content... I would suggest you look at adding your own website directory and building a method to access this director...

Re: unauthorised access to php scripts on i5

You can also use session variables..
session_start();
if(!isset($_SESSION['valid_session']) {
header("Location : /index.php");
}

Re: effect on zend server of V6R1 to V7R1 update

We ran V7R1 during the ESP with ZendServer, other than the same issues we have with V6R1 running ZendServer we saw not other problems on V7R1.
