Re: Error when installing MySQL

MySQL must be installed while logged in as QSECOFR in order to be usable, due to the way unix identifies root (uuid of QSECOFR and root are both 0). ZendCore (or ZendServer) for i can be installed successfully under any user profile with QSECOFR-like authorities, but if you do so, the MySQL will ins...

Re: Zend Server for i and MySQL questions...

Thanks for the reply. Please consider adding some of this MySQL install information to the Please READ FIRST. Definitely impacts the side-by-side installation scenario for users intending to use MySQL as part of the Zend package. I certainly would have prepped for the install differently given this ...

Zend Server for i and MySQL questions...

... what version of MySQL ships with the beta? Where has Zend documented this? Are there plans to ship MySQL 5.1 as part of the ZendServer for i (at least as an optional part of the install)? I'm very interested in using the IBMDB2i storage engine which I understand requires a minimum of MySQL 5.1.3...

Re: URL re-write issue...

Problem resolved by adding a ServerName directive specifying the fully qualified host name to the httpd.conf for the external web server (/www/zendcore/conf/httpd.conf if you want to edit the configuration file by hand, or you can set the directive using IBM's HTTP Admin for the ZENDCORE web server)...

Re: ZendCore 2.6.6 release notes...

Thanks, Scott.

Would be useful if I could navigate to the all release notes from the product page, rather than just the 2.6.1 notes.

I've recently changed the fully qualified domain name of our IBM i to agree with the local DNS server (so it's now known as server1.company.local rather than server1.company.com . Re: DB2 for i (IBMDB2I) Storage Engine for MySQL on IBM i ...

Found the below in a thread in the Zend Core forum. Guess this means that Zend's plan for ZendCore for i5/OS is to move to ZendServer 5 (for i?) in order to keep the delivered integrated stack updated, too. http://forums.zend.com/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=3992&p=13952&hilit=MYSQL#p13952 Re: Is Zend Core ...

DB2 for i (IBMDB2I) Storage Engine for MySQL on IBM i ...

... requires MySQL v5.1.35 (or later).

ZendCore for i5/OS ships with MySQL v5.0.45.

Is there a plan to rollout a version of ZendCore for i5/os that includes MySQL v.5.1?

If not, how do we update the MySQL (and the PHP MySQL drivers) to get there?
