Re: pear on Zend Server

Actually, we began seeing this in later versions of Zend Core. It seems like the PEAR help and message output was converted to UTF-8 at some point, and the PASE shell does not handle the CCSID conversion. The characters are not random garbage, but rather this is what UTF-8 looks like when decoded as...

Re: ZSRV_MSG158A : Error occurred reading document from (...)

This message indicates that the file is intermittently not served back through the reverse proxy from the PASE Apache server, which could be a problem in mod_proxy, or in in the PASE Apache server itself. As it happens, Zend Server for IBM i uses neither mod_proxy nor the PASE Apache server. Since Z...

Re: Connecting to remote MSSQL server

Try QP2SHELL2. It is the same as QP2SHELL, except that it runs in the caller's activation group. This might save you some overhead:

Re: Variable size/date problem - also on general PHP forum

Assume your input date is in field $inDate. Try the following: <?php // set a date $inDate = '60509'; // If needed, pad with leading zero if (strlen($inDate) == 5) $inDate = '0' . $inDate; // Parse the date into year, month and day: $inMonth = substr($inDate, 0, 2); $inDay = substr($inDate, 2, 2); $...

Re: Problems with i5_program_call

One potential problem is that you are calling the program using resource handle $res, but in the next line, you are testing for $rethdl. Try changing this: if (!$rethdl) die("<br>Program call error. Error number=".i5_errno()." msg=".i5_errormsg()); to this: if (!$res) die("<br>Program call error. Er...

Re: Wrong time in application.

The TZ environment variable is in PASE. You can learn more about it here: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r4/topic/apis/qp2shell.htm However, you do not need it. The way you have things set up now is fine. Just for reference, here is a link to an article that describes what needs ...
