use Zend/... dosen't work

Hi, I am new to zend platform and i ve been trying to make use of it for a week now but couldnt! i ve extracted the "Zend" directory into the default include path of apache. i am using xampp on win7 (also i tried zend server on another machine and didnt worm niether). i qm using the latest versions. it allways gives me the error that he cant see the classes of zend framework. please help.
