Zend Server CE and Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)

Postby knagurski on Thu Jun 18, 2009 11:54 am

I've been playing around with the WWDC build of OS X 10.6 and I've noticed a problem with it and Zend Server CE (4.0.3). Although the server still works and can run my sites etc, the admin interface is broken. I've tried reinstalling, but no dice. Here's the output from a restart of ZSCE.
Code: Select all

I know that 10.6 isn't officially supported at the moment, but if there is some fix I could do to get it back up and running in the meantime, I would be very grateful!

Hello,

We never tested on MAC OS X 10.6. If I understand correctly, it is suppose to be released September, 2009.
We'll try to get such a test machine and see what happens.

Thanks for reporting,

Members of the Apple Developer Connection get pre-release versions (which is what I'm using). But the full version is due out in September.

Thanks for the help. In the meantime, is there a way that I can manually enable the OCI8 extension? I can continue to use ZSCE without the admin system if I can just get that extension loaded.

Yes.
You can edit /usr/local/zend/etc/php.ini and uncomment:
;extension=oci8.so
;extension=pdo_oci.so

Whichever one you'd like to use.

Is there a way for Zend to obtain the 10.6 version?

Thanks,

Thanks, that did the trick and I feel a bit dumb for asking now... that's how modules have been controlled in every other implementation of PHP I've seen. Silly me.

To get a pre-release versions of OS X, you'll need a Premier or Select membership from the Apple Developer Connection. Have a look here http://developer.apple.com/products/mac/program/

Don't suppose you know how I can ensure that the Zend Optimiser + is running? I don't have the ZSCE control panel to turn it on and off.

Thanks

hi,

we use snowleopard now for over one month on our dev machines.

the only problems are Java Apps - like Zend5.5, ZendServer, Wuala.

if a developer need access to a snow leopard machine - i can help with a remote access for testing on a blank snowleopard machine - please contact me.

here the ZS 4.0.4ce konsole logs:

I would be very interested in getting hold of such a machine for tests.
Can you mail me at jess zend com so that we can advance?

Thanks in advance for your assistance,
