Shut Down Server without Uninstalling

Postby tharper on Fri Jun 08, 2012 6:33 pm

I'm running multiple IDE enviornments, not all of them using the zend server that I run locally on my windows xp desktop. When I'm coding in another language I use the server in MyEclipse or xamp. Those I can turn on/off without uninstalling the software. Is there a way to do this with zend server CE? Its becoming a big pain to always have to install/uninstall and redo the settings daily.

Tried that. Even after shutting down the service in control panel and try to bring up tomcat in myeclipse I still get a message saying there is another server running and when I type in localhost in the browser it still brings up the Zend Server splash screen.

DId you reboot after stoping the server or kill the server from the command line?.

Yep, rebooting and the service starts up again (although I didn't set it to manual as I didn't want to go through and try to remember which ones I switched when I wanted to go back to using it).

What is the command from the command line?

It would be nice to have a stop button on the window that opens from the system tray.

If you don't set it to manual it is just going to restart (obviously). There is a command in the install directory called "zend_ctrl" I think (Can't look it up right now). I think ti's zend_ctrl stop ro something similar ...
