can anyone recommend a link for incorporating python support into Zend Studio?

or at a minimum a python content assist / syntax highlighter?

Hi

Zend Studio is built on Eclipse, so you can add Python plugin like pydev for example.
I would recommend to backup the Eclipse program files before adding anything that might not be easily removed - if you break it - clean it...

But my best recommendation is separate and rule - Zend Studio for PHP and whatever editor you find and like for Python.
Try to Google "python editors" for a quick orientation...
