Does PHP works with any computer? Someone asks me and I'm not so familiar with it. Thanks.

PHP stands for "hypertext preprocessor" and is a widely used, general-purpose scripting language that was originally designed for web development to produce dynamic web pages. These type of webpages can be viewed from any computer, however they can only be executed on a linux server. Meaning, you can only upload php files (and have them work) to a linux hosting account. Hope that clarifies things for you. :)

Since PHP is written in C theoretically it can work anywhere where C compiler is available.

Well they can be executed on other operating systems if you use webhost software like apache or by using abyss webserver. Then you can set up PHP and run it on a windows environment so it doesn't have to be linux.

Can you please tell me if PHP is a reasonably easy language to grasp and do I need to learn any other languages in order to make the most of it?

Thanks
