Can Zend Server and Zend Core be installed on same machine

I am currently running Zend Core and would like to switch to Zend Server. I need to install Zend server and make sure it works before removing Zend Core. Just wondering if both Zend Core and Zend server could be installed at the same machine and how to setup the configuration.

Yes, both Zend Core and Zend server could be installed and deployed on the same machine. The Zend Server package is installed in its own library (ZENDSVR), directory(/use/local/zendsvr) and Apache instance (/www/zendsvr). What Zend Core version you have installed in your machine?

I currently have Zend Core version 2.5.2 installed. Can I just remove it after I install Zend Server?

Yes, after you test Server you can just remove Core.

Another question:
I have MYSQL 5.0.45 installed currently(Zend Core). When I install Zend server, the MYSQL version will be different (5.1.43). They both will be installed under /usr/local/. I wonder if the old version will be wipe out by the newer version. I need both versions working before new Zend server works. Is this possible?

According to this posting by Zend's Rod Flohr (a reliable source): http://forums.zend.com/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=10588,

you must upgrade Zend Core to 2.6.1 before uninstalling it, if you want to avoid losing Zend Server objects.
