Wants to work with PEAR

Post by aalzate » Tue Mar 24, 2009 4:29 pm

I want to work with PEAR but I don't know if it was already installed on my iSeries system when I installed Zend Core for i5.

Also, I want to know where PEAR is installed (directory tree) on my iSeries.

I want to know if there is a user guide from Zend to work with PEAR on my iSeries.

I installed Zend Core 2.6.3 - PHP 5.2.9 - Zend Studio for Eclipse i5 6.1.0.

For your help,

Thank you very much.

PEAR is installed with Zend Core for i5/OS. The pear command is at /usr/local/zend/core/bin/pear . There is not a User Guide for i5/OS specifically, but you can find instructions for how to use PEAR to install packages at: http://pear.php.net/manual/en/guide.use ... alling.php .

Please check to see if a package is already installed before downloading from PEAR. Some of the extensions included in Zend Core are disabled in the default configuration. In the Zend Core Administrative interface accessed at http://<your i5 ip address>:89/ZendCore/ , go to the Configuration -> Extensions tab. Check the list for the desired extension. If it is there, look off to the right at the light bulb and light switch icons. If the bulb is yellow and the switch is green and in the up position, the extension is loaded and you can use it's functions. If the bulb is grey and the switch is down, click the switch icon to move it to the up position. You must then stop and restart Apache to begin using the extension.

You will not need to use PEAR to update extensions provided with Zend Core. Instead, please use the Zend Core Updater.
