ZSTRCLCNTR job logs for user NOBODY every 2 minutes

Post by gomitos » Thu Jan 21, 2010 5:07 pm

Hi All,

Zend is generating job logs every 2 minutes with the following characteristics:

Job name . . . . . . . . . . : ZSTRCLCNTR
Job description . . . . . . : QDFTJOBD
User . . . . . . : NOBODY
Library . . . . . : QGPL

Message . . . . : No job log information.
Cause . . . . . : The job log was not displayed for one of the following
reasons: The message logging level has been zero from the beginning of the
job. There are no messages on the job message queue. The job message queue
could not be found.

I am trying to stop this spoolfiles from generating but can't figure out where to set this up.

I tried the ZendCore Administrative interface/Configuration/Error Handling and Logging but it seams like this is not the place to set what jobs are generated.

Has anybody been able to stop and/or increase the time gap for these job logs?

Thanks in advance for your time and help,

Gerardo.

Please check the QDFTJOBD logging parameters:

DSPJOBD QDFTJOBD

If they look like this:

Message logging:
Level . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 4
Severity . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 0
Text . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : *SECLVL
Log CL program commands . . . . . . . . . . . . : *YES

Change them to this:

Message logging:
Level . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 4
Severity . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 0
Text . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : *NOLIST
Log CL program commands . . . . . . . . . . . . : *YES

Use this command:

CHGJOBD JOBD(QDFTJOBD) LOG(4 00 *NOLIST)

After making this change, stop and restart the ZEND subsystem.

Hi,
i have the same Problem with the Job ZSTRCLNTR, whis is producing a Spoolfile every 2 minutes. This has nothing to do with the JOBD QDFTJOB, because it isn't a joblog. What is the solution for preventing the spool to be produced. I changed the Userprofile NOBODY to OUTQ(QUSRSYS/QEZJOBLOG) and restarted the Zend-Subsystem, but it has no effect.

Please have You any Information for me ?

Have a nice Day

I have the same issue. The jobd has:
Message logging:
Level . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 4
Severity . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 0
Text . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : *NOLIST
Log CL program commands . . . . . . . . . . . . : *NO

ZSTRCLCNTR creates a spool file every 2 minutes. It quickly reaches the max limit of spool files and generates errors every 2 minutes after that.

Any other suggestions perhaps?

Regards,
Juliette

Further information...

I restarted the Zend subsystem so the job can create the spool file again. Each spool file has one line of text:
[Thu Mar 11 11:11:15 2010] Removing stale lockfile for pid 119265
And each spool is for a different pid #.

Does that help give anyone ideas about how I can stop these spool files from being generated?

Thanks,
Juliette

I would check and make sure you have all of the HTTP and Java group PTF's installed! Its not necessarily Zend thats causing the problem but its hooks into the Apache server and Java.

I did have problems recently with an install of ZendServer which took up 100% of the CPU and it created 1,000's of joblogs every hour! I had to restart all of the HTTP services and Zend to clear the error (In one instance I did a re-ipl which fixed it as well)

HTTP server does have a lot of PTF's recently which are not in the latest CUM as does Java so I would start there..
