Post by metasoftware » Wed Mar 10, 2010 8:54 am

Hi,

After installing mysql on i5 System and changed the password we tried to connent to tables launching the following comand:
mysql -u root -p OUR_PASSWORD

and we received the following message:
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

The server is started.

Thank you

You can either eliminate the space:
-pOUR_PASSWORD

or use the long syntax:
--password=OUR_PASSWORD

See http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/ ... l_password
