PHP form validatation

Postby alanjgorman on Mon Jan 14, 2013 11:27 pm

I'm very new to PHP and I think I'm trying to make this problem more complicated than it is. I need to input an account number and a customer number and validate that against a DB2 file then call another page to retrieve some information. Right now I have an html page with a form that has "action=myphpscript.php" that let's me input the variables. The "myphpscript.php" gets passed the variables and does the sql to the DB2 file to retrieve the information then just does an echo to show me the results (without validating my inputs).

I need to be able to input the variables and validate them against the DB2 database on a page and if a confirm box is OK then run the php script (passing the inputted variables) to do my processing. I feel like there must be an easy way to do this but I can't find anything so far. This seems like it would be a common piece of code but I haven't found any examples.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
