Zend Server CE versions on IBMi for V6R1

Just a quick question that hopefully someone will know the answer to as I've looked around this site and cannot see the information.

We currently run the Zend Server CE for IBMi product VER 5.1.0 (PHP 5.3) on a system i server running at v5r4 of os/400

It's the free version so I assume there is no Zend Support avenue I can follow.

We are looking to upgrade to os/400 V6R1at some point his year.

I know there is a later version of Zend Server available ver 5.6...but :

Will the current version installed (v5.1.0) work on os/400 v6r1 or do we HAVE to upgrade?

I know the upgrade is probabaly easy but we have to ensure all upgarde costs are covered and are necessary (inc. time) so if the current version can be used it is expected we use that version -mad I know but just the way it is.

Does anyone know if the 5.1.0 version works on v6r1 of os/400 ? Does anyone use it ? ...and/or has anyone had problems with it at the v6r1 o/s level that necessitated upgrading to the later version ?

5.1 definiteley works with V6R1. In fact it even does so with V7R1. Though upgrading to 5.6 is a piece of cake. Just loading and applying a PTF. That's it. Long story short, you don't have to, but I'd still do it.

many thanks I have downloaded the upgrade and hotfix files for 5.6 so if will have a look at those on a test box - just in case..
