Software problem data for QRWSINTR has been detected

Postby kim4940 on Thu Feb 16, 2017 10:34 pm

We have an IBM i Power 8 with 3 LPARs, each with an IASP: One LPAR is our production environment, one is development, and one used as our web server. (The development LPAR isn't being used yet, so I won't refer to it any longer.)

LPAR/Environment/IASP
PROD1/production/IASP1
WEB1/web server/WIASP1

We run PHP on Apache, and our web pages reside in the IASP on the WEB1 LPAR. Using PDO, we connect to the IASP on the PROD1 LPAR. Everything works great, but errors are constantly being written to QSYSOPR on the web server.

The error is: Software problem data for QRWSINTR has been detected.

F1 on the error message yields the following detail:

When I look at the job log for UHLIC/QTMHHTTP/121219, I see Relational database [garbage characters]*NO not found or not available.

We have an entry in the relational database on our web server for IASP1. Our web pages are retrieving data just fine. I've called IBM about this, and they tell me it's an issue with Zend. I've done some web searches, but can't come up with anyone else that has had this issue.

Even though "Software problem data for QRWSINTR has been detected." is an informational message, it is written to QSYSOPR so often that it's difficult to weed out actual error messages.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to keep this error from occurring?

We created a small PHP script that shows how we are connecting - and it results in the "Software problem data for QRWSINTR has been detected." message. The script is below:

Code: Select all
    $hostName = gethostname();
    $isProduction = (preg_match('/^www/i', $hostName)) ? true : false;

    $dbServer = ($isProduction) ? "IASP1" : "WIASP1";
    $dbLib = ($isProduction) ? "WEBUSER" : "WEBUSER";

    debugInfo("Before connection", $dbServer);

    // PDO database connection method
    try {

        $connStr = "ibm:$dbServer";

        $options = [
            PDO::ATTR_PERSISTENT => false,
            PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE => PDO::ERRMODE_WARNING,  // ERRMODE_EXCEPTION
        ];

        $conn = new PDO($connStr, null, null, $options);
        debugInfo("After connection", $dbServer, $conn);
    } catch (PDOException $e) {
        die("Connection error: ".$e->getMessage());
    }

    $query = "SELECT * FROM $dbLib.PWEBLOG";
    $query = "select TRIM(CHAR(HEX(GENERATE_UNIQUE()))) from sysibm.sysdummy1";
    $stmt = $conn->prepare($query);

    debugInfo("After prepare", $dbServer, $conn);

    if ($stmt) {
        if ($stmt->execute()) {
            debugInfo("After execute", $dbServer, $conn);
            if (($row = $stmt->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC)) !== false) {
                debugInfo("After fetch", $dbServer, $conn);
                debugInfo("Data", $row);
            } else {
                debugInfo("Fetch failed", $dbServer, $conn);
            }
        } else {
            debugInfo("Execute failed", $dbServer, $conn);
        }
    } else {
        debugInfo("Prepare failed", $dbServer, $conn);
    }

    debugInfo("Complete", $dbServer, $conn);

    die;

I was hoping that Zend or Alan Seiden might browse this forum. No one has any ideas what this could be?

It was known problem in V5R4. Here are PTF numbers issued by IBM that fix this issue: SI35698 and SI36043
