Zend Server GUI does not control file permissions of your php.ini , or umask settings in general. It does allow you though to set all php.ini ini directives.

Usually Zend Server should be agnostic to your umask settings.

Why do you need to change the umask ? Is some operation of Zend Server fails ? If so, could you provide some log errors ?

Hi,

Setting umask is useful when creating new files and wanting to control the files permissions in advance, but regarding php.ini - the file already exists.

Permissions wise, feel free to change the permissions of the file, these will only get "reset" on upgrades.

If you want the UI to work, make sure the user or group has write permissions to the file.

We use Zend-Server-8.5 (PHP 5.6.28 (cli) (built: Nov 13 2016 07:32:35)) with CentOS 7, and permisson for php.ini was changed after save settings under PHP > Extension > Resource Limits and Tuning > max_execution_time in Zend Server GUI.

Before:
-rw-rw-r--. 1 zend zend 72944 Mar 28 16:00 php.ini
After:
-rw-r--r--. 1 zend zend 72944 Mar 28 16:02 php.ini

You can check this also with docker (php-zendserver). Change permission for php.ini to group writeable and save custom values with gui.

Hi,

Thanks for the fast response and detailed example. Will fix this behavior to keep the original file permissions.
