Problems with ZendServer on Mac OSX Lion

Post by urkman » Tue Jul 19, 2011 9:25 am

Hello,

ZendServer CE 5.1 is not working on my MacOSX Lion :(

MySQL is not starting at all. I get this message:
$ sudo /usr/local/zend/bin/zendctl.sh restart-mysql
ERROR! MySQL manager or server PID file could not be found!
Starting MySQL
. ERROR! Manager of pid-file quit without updating file.
Here is the error log entry:
110718 11:53:08 mysqld_safe Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /usr/local/zend/mysql/data
110718 11:53:11 [Warning] '--skip-locking' is deprecated and will be removed in a future release. Please use '--skip-external-locking' instead.

110718 11:53:12 mysqld_safe mysqld from pid file /usr/local/zend/mysql/data/stefan-sturms-imac.fritz.box.pid ended
Somebody with a solution for this?

Thanks,
Urkman

Yes, reinstalling ZendServer sure will do. But that's really a pain each time osx updates.
One may have a bunch of stuff on top of zendserver that you need to rebuild and reinstall.

I wonder if there's a workaround...

Nobody at zend interested in such problems?
Installing after each reboot is not the best idea...

Zend?? Anyone???

Same problem here... Zend probably needs to take some action... Should have waited with Lion :(

We will look into it and see what we can find out. Please have a little patience. It really is a bit "excessive" to say "Nobody at zend interested in such problems?" when it's only bee a couple of days and .. some of them were weekend days and it's on a free product ...

The pain of the early adopter! We do it to ourselves . . .

I did a fresh install of 5.1 on lion. MySQL did not work, so I switched to the 5.5 version available directly from oracle. During the install the lighttpd console was available and I could connect to it, but after rebooting I'm no longer able to connect. Restarting using zendctl.sh says it starts, but it doesn't seem to work.

Thank you to Zend for efforts to resolve.

Weren't the early adopters the ones that had the Lion betas months ago to make sure their software worked on it when Apple did officially release it?
