Hi why2liz,
Code tracing is available only in Zend Server and it is not included in CE. It is available for Dev/QA as part of Zend Server Dev license or Zend Developer Solution not only the production licenses.

I finally saw the link was fixed and read through the forum. I uninstalled CE and then opened the DMG. Once it worked where I could see the background image and the text that said double-click to install but it also said CE. There were no icons and nothing to double-click to install though.

I unmounted the DMG and remounted and now I just get a window with the title bar of "window" with nothing in it. I cannot get anything to come up in the DMG that looks like anything that will install. Ugh.

So now I've dorked up my environment and I have a non-working download of ZendServer for Mac. I downloaded the who DMG again and I am getting just the window thing.

I am on Lion.

Thanks,
David

I rebooted and things looked way more normal. Now I'm going through the install and setup phase. Please disregard the previous message.

It looks like the permissions of the files containing system tables have changed. In ZCE 5.0 they were owned by user zend, group wheel. In ZCE 5.5 they are owned by root with group wheel.
As a result, since zend is not in group wheel, the zend user cannot access the system table files.

To correct this, go to the data directory where your database tables are stored and change ownership of the system tables back to user zend and restart MySQL.

This solved the issue my colleagues machine who spend the whole afternoon figuring out why the upgrade to 5.5 failed.

Great news. I'll try it soon.
Thanks to the Zend Team
