Debugging Segmentation Fault

Post by bennysasson » Sun Apr 15, 2012 1:38 pm

Hello,

we started to receive segmentation faults on one of our servers and we cant identify the exact cause of it.

we have ordered apache to core dump, but when trying to analyze the core dumps we get the following:
#0 0x00002ab783234c77 in ?? () from /usr/local/zend/lib/apache2/libphp5.so
#1 0x00002ab7984834ab in display_ini_entries () from /usr/local/zend/lib/optimizerplus/php-5.3.x/ZendOptimizerPlus.so
#2 0x00002ab7984804af in display_ini_entries () from /usr/local/zend/lib/optimizerplus/php-5.3.x/ZendOptimizerPlus.so
#3 0x00002ab798480b62 in display_ini_entries () from /usr/local/zend/lib/optimizerplus/php-5.3.x/ZendOptimizerPlus.so
#4 0x00002ab7984788e0 in display_ini_entries () from /usr/local/zend/lib/optimizerplus/php-5.3.x/ZendOptimizerPlus.so
#5 0x00002ab798479479 in display_ini_entries () from /usr/local/zend/lib/optimizerplus/php-5.3.x/ZendOptimizerPlus.so
#6 0x00002ab79847a76f in display_ini_entries () from /usr/local/zend/lib/optimizerplus/php-5.3.x/ZendOptimizerPlus.so

#8 0x00002ab783200948 in php_execute_script () from /usr/local/zend/lib/apache2/libphp5.so
#9 0x00002ab7832db83d in ?? () from /usr/local/zend/lib/apache2/libphp5.so
#10 0x00002ab777d09a4a in ap_run_handler ()
#11 0x00002ab777d0ced8 in ap_invoke_handler ()
#12 0x00002ab777d17938 in ap_process_request ()
#13 0x00002ab777d14b70 in ?? ()
#14 0x00002ab777d10cd2 in ap_run_process_connection ()
#15 0x00002ab777d1b789 in ?? ()

#17 0x00002ab777d1c27d in ap_mpm_run ()
#18 0x00002ab777cf6e48 in main ()

In order to see the lines of the PHP file which actually causes this we need the symbol table of libphp5.so that was built by Zend (correct me if im wrong).

Or there is another way to find what causes this?

can you help me?

Thanks
