Problems in Windows Vista x64

When I double click it, it says:

1628: Failed to complete installation.

Basically, it doesn't even start, it just displays the "Preparing to install" progress dialog.
Neither does it work in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode. I think the 64 bit version of Windows is the culprit.

What exact edition of Vista is this (some of them are quite different...) ?

Hi,

What version exactly you are trying to install? 1628 stands for general errors with the installer, and that message might pop when you are trying to run updates on some configurations.

It seems that I was trying to install the update before the full installation.

Now it's all working (including the update).
