Glen, It sounds like you should be good to go if you installed the CUME and HTTP group. TR6 would not hurt, but is not required, either.

Looks like you may have skipped the install of Zend Server, or are not using the Apache server provided with it. Have you installed any Zend solutions on your IBM i?

I could take a guess, but what exactly is the problem? Are you getting gibberish when you should make Database requests?
