Copy / Overwrite - Operation Failed, Not Owner

Post by wvarilek » Mon May 09, 2011 8:21 pm

Hello,

I have been solo-developing PHP in Zend Studio for a couple months. We are now trying to get a second developer setup to code on the same project. All of the file editing is done through the Remote Systems window.

When our other developer remotes to the AS400 file server, and attempts to copy a file from one directory and paste it into another, the below message is displayed.

The portion "Not Owner" is due to the fact that I am the one who created the files and directories.

Any idea what type of security change i need to make, and where?

Thanks!

We have also a few developers on the same project, and their i5/OS user profiles have the special authority (SPCAUT) *ALLOBJ.

In addition QTMHHTTP is the owner of the files, and permissions are set to 770. This is not necessary but IMO a good and clean way to avoid user profile problems, ecspecially on customer machines, with different profiles.

Thank you for the suggestion, however we just tried this a few days ago and are still unable to overwrite the existing files.
