Edit & save directly to the IFS ...

Post by trapez » Thu Jun 09, 2011 7:01 pm

Every time I open a PHP file from the IFS in www/zendcore/htdocs... via the Remote System I always end up creating a duplicate copy into my "C:\Documents and Settings\ ..." workspace. Then after I make a change to the file and save it the save file goes to the workspace on the c drive.

Is there any way to work directly with the php files located on the IFS in www/zendcore/htdocs...???? For now every time I make a change I must manual copy the file from the
workspace back to IFS!!!!

1. One simple way is to use the "remote systems" feature of zend studio. Go to Window->Show View->Remote Systems and add a new connection. You can then browser and edit IFS files. A save puts it back on the IFS.

2. Another way would be to create a windows network share of to files you want to edit.

3. Yet another way would be to use an eclipse sync plugin. We do this because editing files directly on the network share can be quite slow. http://andrei.gmxhome.de/filesync/
