Failed to connect sshd

Post by wvarilek » Tue Mar 01, 2011 9:39 pm

Hello,

I am using: Zend Studio - i5 Edition. Version 8.0.0. When we first set up the Zend Studio, I had created a "Remote Systems" ssh connection to our iSeries, assigned to port 22, and given my iSeries username... everything was working just fine! Then, after coming back from a weeks vacation, i was unable to remotely access these files... and no one remembers what setting may have been changed.

Here are my 'Sftp Files' subsystem properties:

When expanding 'Root' within my Remote Systems:

I get this error:

Are you sure ssdh (correction--sshd) is running on your IBM i? Someone might have ended it during your vacation.

Do NETSTAT *CNN and look for a local port called "ssh" or 22.

Wow... I think that is it! I looked at the "Remote Port" and 'Local Port" columns, but found no record of SSDH or 22 in either. Any suggestions of how / where I get this started back up?

Thank you for the help, this discovery alone has helped!

I'm back again... unforunately

Somehow, something must have gotten changed, because I am again receiving the same error message.

However, when I do a NETSTAT *CNN from the green-screen,i do see SSH running... and its on port " * ". Is this possibly the problem? if so, any idea how to change it to be port 22?

Update::

I did an endtcpsvr server(*sshd) command... and then strtcpsvr server(*sshd) , and now it is working just fine. the NETSTAT *CNN still shows its running on port * , but i am able to connect now.

I've experienced this, too--the need to end and restart sshd. I don't know why. A restart always seems to work.

I bet there's a PTF that fixes this issue. If anyone finds it, let us know :)
