Zend Code Tracing fails to start - error is weird symbols

Post by juliesum » Fri Jun 18, 2010 4:00 pm

Hello all,

I just starting to play with the Zend Server on my System i. I can't seem to start Code Tracing and am anxious to try it out. The error I receive is weird symbols. Can someone tell me where I can begin to look for problems. I checked the apache and php logs and see nothing.

Thanks,

Shannon Sumner

You are probably experiencing problems with CCSID settings on the pages. When you create a page using the IBM tools it creates it is a strange CCSID, then when you run that through the PHP interpreter you get either weird symbols between each letter or it will not run the PHP script at all?

Check out the CCSID settings on the pages you are running, don't forget the page can have a CCSID setting and the content as well! I found this out after hours of trying to get a simple start up screen to work!

Can you be more specific on what to check? We installed a new version of one of our applications and the vendor changed the CCSID of all their fields from 37 (English) to 65535 and my PHP is returning garbage. Thanks.
